Carnegie Awards Ceremony

Our students at Pensby have been following the national Carnegie and Greenaway Awards since March 2019. On the 18th June, we invited Wirral Grammar for Girls and Ridgeway High to watch the live stream of the announcement of the winner with us. 

Everyone had a wonderful time as Miss Wright held a poetry workshop on acrostic animal poetry, focussing on The Lost Words by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris. Each school that participated received prizes of signed books, special colouring books and exclusively designed bookmarks to celebrate the event. The students were very excited and can’t wait to join in again next year.
